Opnext Infrared LEDs for industrial use

Opnext infrared LEDs are GaAlAs single or double heterojunction structure light emitting diodes. Reliability, efficiency, high brightness and high output power are achieved through the use of the unique domed-chip formation technology. The domed shape of the chip means that the output light strikes the surface virtually orthogonally at any angle, ensuring that almost all of the generated light is emitted from the chip. The beam shape is provided by precision lens (package) design technology.

The LEDs are suitable for use as light sources in a wide range of optical control and sensing equipment, in measuring instruments and infrared-beam communication equipment, such as NC machine tools and robots, opthalmoscopes and position detection equipment.

Compared with incandescent sources, the advantages of LEDs are clear; long life plus power efficiency equal savings for OEMs.
