Sanyo blue LEDs (light emitting diodes)

The blue LEDs range in intensity from .35 candelas and a divergence angle of 65 degrees in a 3mm package, up to 4.0 candelas at a divergence angle of 25 degrees in a 5mm package.

The LEDs are packaged in industry standard, 3mm, 5mm and surface mount packages.

They are used in a broad range of applications such as outdoor and indoor LED video signs, transportation signalling and automotive lighting, and can also be used in high volume applications such as LCD backlighting and panel displays, for direct and indirect lighting.

Compared with incandescent sources, the advantages of LEDs are clear; long life plus power efficiency equal savings for OEMs.
